    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

The most funny part of The Display Guy is that it seems like there are so many people, especially on Reddit, that claim that no one should ever watch his videos, yet they seem to know every little detail from his videos :D

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Yes, OLED is by far my preferred choice for PQ. I never really did try the QN900C with all the TV bells and whistles enabled (ie outside of game mode) but in game mode I was actually surprised of how bad streaming TV looked. As I do also have a thought of using it as a secondary TV in some...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

This is basically the same reasons why I bought the QN900C instead for less than half that price. Never really saw the added value of the QN900D when mostly used as a PC monitor. Thanks for taking one for the team though :)

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

When I tried it out, I got the feeling Multi View was more along the lines of "watch the news and a YT exercise video at the same time". Ie things that might feel impressive to more normal people not discussing TVs online in their spare time :)

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

One input should be enough for multi view, even though it perhaps makes it a bit pointless :)

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

I think it is more "mode jumping" unlike the OLEDs which just change processing. Kind of like the 240 hz switch on the Neo G9s. Changes dithering, FALD etc. Since game mode is needed for both actual gaming and for 4:4:4, I found it easier just to always be in that mode (or perhaps wire up...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Enabling/disabling game mode has some other side effects though, kind of like when you plug in a new monitor. Ie not something you want to do to often in the fly.

Thanks for telling us so we didn't have to ask.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

From what I can recall, for the QN900, you also have to be in game mode for 4:4:4 to work as weird as that might sound, which would basically mean that you would always be in game mode if used as a PC monitor. Which is a bit sad if you actually want to use it as a TV, at least assuming content...

In multi view and with input labeled PC as well as having working 4:4:4?

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Can you actually get it to work with a PC in Game mode? At least I never have with the QN900C, only way is to disable game mode.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

This is the same as the Neo G9 57" with 240 hz mode activated, only 120 hz and 240 hz.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

What settings do you use, I imagine that you have at least enabled game bar to get 240 hz to work? Have you tried out using screen ratio to make the image a bit lower in height? Personally I found that 65" full screen is way to big for any kind of normal PC gaming, ie with you sitting less than...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Thanks. I though that the input lag problem of Window gaming had been if not solved at least greatly improved these days? Perhaps not something for a CS GO pro but for most normal gaming.

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Is windowed gaming really that bad these days though? Not done it i many years so it is more a feeling from what I have heard and it also seem to be a built in option more these days so you don't have to use "hacks" for it.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Watching the World Cup now and watched some NHL before that on my G3 and even as a brightness junkie, I don't really feel I lack brightness and there is no obvious dimming either. Even noticed that brightness was only at 90%. But of course, everything is relative.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

One thing that should be noted, that perhaps isn't to surprising, is energy consumption. I am a max brightness kind of guy and let me tell you, sitting in front of a 65" 8K you can feel the burn both in your face and in you wallet I assume. This is to be expected of course, but still, the heat...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

When you finally get an 8K monitor, I think you will find that you can be a bit wasteful and let the task bar be visible all the time ;) I guess there are other options to display a clock, and perhaps there are other ways to access those features that hides beneath those icons anyway, but I...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Since I seem to be the only one with an 8K "monitor", I don't really mind :) No, System Tray icons based on what it seem to be called in Settings. WindHaw now contains a fix for those rounded window corners as well which MS force on us a few years ago BTW if anyone wants that. Personally I...

Seems really overkill do use DP just for that. Perhaps there is a mod for WinAero or WinHawk?

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Since this has basically turned into a software thread recently anyway, is there a way to override the location of the quick launch / clock etc in Windows? You can center application icons but not the quick start one (or whatever they are called) which means they are VERY far away on a 8K 65" :)

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

My entire setup is in a state of disarray currently due to me comparing several monitors side by side. But I always consider PPI rather than screen size so in regards to both the QN900 and the Neo G9 57" that would be the same as a 4K 32". Any additional screen area I treat as a multi monitor...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

As I recall it, Multi View (Samsungs PIP/PBP) did not work with PC in game mode (needed for 4:4;4) which kind of made it useless for anything but video/TV.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

It should perhaps be said that I don't really consider any of these screens to have 100% usable screen area, at least for things like text, photo editing etc. Unless you have super human vision and can push the monitors far enough away without enabling scaling, the viewing angles are just to...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Was thinking about doing a summary of that but has not gotten around to it yet. But in short, twice the screen real estate, glossy with no grain, flat, much better viewing angles (even when sitting in the sweetspot of the Neo G9). Surprisingly enough, I found the local dimming and brightness to...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Not sure why you would want 8K on such a small monitor but I completely agree about that no sane person should invest in a 65" 8K TV as a PC monitor :D That said, all I do now is to press the power button on the remote once a day (or twice if I don't want to wait for it to shut down on itself...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

And here I just boxed up the Neo G9 57" (almost an 8K monitor) in favor of the QN900C (an 8K TV) as I found the latter to be better in most use cases as a PC monitor, at least for me. Of course, neither of them passes the "I am broke" requirement...at least not before you buy any of them :)

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Having done the same a few times in the past, it is important that the difference might actually be as much the changes rather than it being 120 hz/144 hz. Ie going the other way might actually also make things worse to begin with, timing etc just get different. Same thing with going from like a...

Question Whats the best 24-32" monitor for quicker response times and less input lag?

If you ask for recommendations, you should probably list your requirements rather than what monitors you have been looking at.

Question Whats the best 24-32" monitor for quicker response times and less input lag?

If rapid response times, most likely for FPS gaming I guess, is the most important, OLED is probably what you want, or maybe a TN panel. That was not your question though.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

There must have been some updates to the QN900C/One Connect Box since the first QN900C I tried because I am yet to experience any kind of dropout even at 144 hz while the previous one had them all the time. And this is with the long cable as well. As mentioned before, I noticed that packaging...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

There are additional "weirdness" with dithering etc that comes into play. It is doable but as a monitor nut, it would have to be better than that in order not for me to start looking into alternatives (lika a 4K side monitor). The Multi view definitely seems to be targeted at "video content"...
  36. I

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Was able to get the Multi View working but it seems to require disabling Game Mode which also seem to break 4:4:4 which basically makes it pointless for anything text related (at least compared to an actual monitor).

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

QN900C has support for 4 multi view "areas" up from only 2 on the QN900B. But there seems to be some incompatability only giving me "not supported" but will try more when I have time for it.

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

Don't really mind if people prefer curved, and if I were to build a racing sim or something like that where immersion was the key, I might prefer that as well. But never for productivity. And neither does Samsung it seems, based on the fact that when the viewing angles are not as poor, the need...

    Where are the 8K Monitors?

I am really against the dual monitor approach, mainly as I feel like I am on a constant holy quest to find the ideal monitor that can do it all.
